IS SUMMER HERE AT LAST? AND GOODBYE G-A-Y @ THE ASTORIA
Hi there hope you are well. Well I have seen the Lady Boys of Bangkok and once again they were great. We at gten teamed up again with Iain from Taurus bar to raise money for George House Trust. And I pleased say we raised £433 for the guys. The show again was marking 10 years of touring so they had new songs as well as old songs. But even the old songs were good to see again. One thing I did learn from last year is to stay right at the back as once again people in the front got dragged on stage. (not the thing I like doing)
Well London have had the pride event now and Brighton are just about to have their Pride next weekend which means it around 4 weeks till the best pride in the country (not just my view but it was voted by Pink Paper readers too). The guys have just revealed some of the headliners for the big weekend. If you don't know who they are why not check out the pride section in the news section or the 7 days section to see pictures. I am very excited about the weekend Alphabeat are going to be there as well as Heather Small who I really hope is going to sing PROUD. If she does then I think it will be an amazing moment. We are going to be very busy at gtentelevision over the weekend as we are planning three programmes. A fluid special and full coverage of the Virgil which is one of the events which makes Manchester Pride Unique. Plus the event will also feature in the first edition of a new programme (can not tell you more at the moment)
Well as you can see gtentelevision.com has had its makeover and we have not finished yet and we will be adding more stuff to the website over the next few months. We also have planned new programmes which include a new drama series. STAY TUNNED
As I write this G-A-Y have just had their final night at the Astoria in London. Alot of rumours went round saying that Kylie was going to perform but she did not. I would love to have gone to the night. G-A-Y was a place I used to love to go to when I lived down south. In one year I think out of 52 Saturdays I was there 48 leaving my home at around 7pm on the Saturday night and getting home on Sundays at around 8.30am. On most of those 48 I was not alone all night either(
) I had a special place in the club which always seemed to work. Enough said just to say G-A-Y at the Astoria had a special place in life. I met alot of nice people. I could tell you some stories but if you are friends of mine you may know them.
Also as I write this I have all the windows and doors open as it is 28 degrees in here. Summer is finally here and lets hope it stay now. Just looked at the weather forcast and as normal in the UK there is going to heavy rain in the week but it is staying warm. I just hope it is nice for Manchester Pride at the end of August. Then they can have the best 18th Birthday.
One more thing as you have seen the most exclusive event of 2008 is coming soon. Well I can reveal more details. I can but you will have to wait for the next time I write. All I can say is I am very excited. First about the venue and also the the night. It is going to be a night to remember. If you can not wait till next time I write or you want to make sure you are there then get yourself on the mailing list on the gtentelevision.com website or join the gten of facebook group.
Till next time
Gavin xx
