STRICTLY 2008 STARS REVEALED

The stars for the 2008 series of Strictly come dancing have been revealed today. Singers Rachel Stevens and Heather Small will take part. Former EastEnders Gillian Taylforth, Jessie Wallace and Phil Daniels will also compete for the trophy. The One Show host Christine Bleakley and GMTV presenter Andrew Castle are among the 16 contestants. The new series kicks off on Saturday 20 September with Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly returning as presenters. You can see all the stars in the picture below.

DINO WINS MR GAY UK CONTEST 2008

Dino Fabian Gamecho who was representing Pulse Café Bar in Cardiff has been crowned Mr GAY UK 2008 at the Grand Final held at the Ritz hotel on Friday night. The event kick started the Manchester Pride Big Weekend. Dino is 19 years old and is a salesman. He wins the top prize including a holiday from Jet2Holidays.com. 

 

STUART IS THE LATEST TO LEAVE BIG BROTHER HOUSE

Stuart Pilkington has become the ninth contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother house. He lost to fellow nominee Rachel Rice. The 25-year-old had previously said he would like to leave the show as he was missing his daughter. Rachel was nominated for eviction by six of her housemates while Stuart - who survived the boot last week - amassed five nods.

 

DANIEL RADCLIFFE POSES NUDE FOR VOGUE SHOOT

Daniel Radcliffe has posed nude to promote the opening of Equus play in the States. As the picture shows he is naked on the back of a horse. The photo is taken by famous photographer Annie Leibovitz

 

WILL YOUNG'S NEW SINGLE AND ALBUM COVERS REVEALED

Will Young's new single and album covers have been revealed. The new single Changes is out of the 14th September with the album Let it go out on the 25th September. The artwork can be seen below

THE BREAKFAST CLUB - 1 NIGHT IS SOLD OUT

Vertigo Theatre productions have confirmed to gtentelevision that one night of their production of The Breakfast Club which is based on the hit 80's film has sold out. The play which is going to be performed from Tuesday 28th - Friday 31st October at Taurus Bar on Canal Street. The Wednesday performance is now sold out. Tickets for the other performances are selling fast. You can see an interview with the cast on a future edition of Fluid. 

  

DALE IS EVICTED FROM THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE

Dale Howard has been evicted from the Big Brother House and 8th contestant to do so. Dale was up against Stuart Pilkington but 63% of the viewers who voted said they wanted him to go. Both had said they wanted to face the vote this week and were duly nominated for eviction by fellow housemates. Dale wanted to face the vote to see if he was liked by the public and he was greeted by cheers as he left the house.

DOG SEES GOD WILL GO TO THE LOWRY IN 2009

Vertigo Theatre productions have confirmed in the last couple of days that their production of Dog See's God will transfer to the Lowry theatre in January 2009. This follows a short run at Taurus Bar on Canal Street in March. The group are currently getting ready for their next play "The Breakfast Club" which will take place at Taurus Bar on Canal Street in October. WHAM SET TO REFORM FOR ONE OFF GIG ACCORDING TO REPORTS

Wham are set for a one off reunion according to reports. George Michael has said that he will be turning his back on live performance after concerts this summer. As a result he has added two London dates to his stadium tour. The performances on August 24th and 25th at Earl's Court will be called The Final Two and there is widespread speculation that he will be joined on stage by Andrew Ridgley for a sentimental reunion.

KEYS AND WHITE TO RECORD JAMES BOND THEME

Alicia Keys and Jack White have recorded the theme tune for the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. The song is called Another Way to Die and is the first duet in Bond theme history. The announcement follows speculation that the job would go to British stars Amy Winehouse, Duffy or Leona Lewis. Quantum of Solace is out at the end of 2008 in the UK.

BBC FINED £400,000 OVER PHONE IN SCANDAL

The BBC has been fined £400,000 by media watchdog Ofcom for misleading its audiences by "faking" phone-ins. Comic Relief, Children in Need and Sport Relief TV shows were caught up in the scandal along with Liz Kershaw on 6 Music and Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show. The regulator's £400,000 penalty is a record for the corporation.

COLDPLAY GO BACK TO TOP OF THE ALBUM CHARTS

Coldplay have returned to the top of the chart following a one week fall to allow Basshunter a number one spot last week. That album has fallen to number 3. Abba's greatest hits album is now at number 2 in the chart following the success of the film Mama Mia. The album was first released in 1992. Dizzie Rascall and Calvin Harris remain at number one in an almost unchanged singles chart.

LABEOUF HELD AFTER ROAD ACCIDENT

Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a road accident US authorities have said. The actor was the driver of a vehicle which crashed in the early hours of Sunday morning the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. The actor and his passenger were hurt in the collision but it is unclear how serious their injuries were. A spokesman said police officers arrested the 22-year-old at the scene. The incident took place at 0300 local time (1100 BST). 

GOLDEN GIRL ESTELLE GETTY DIES AGED 84

Estelle Getty who was best known for playing Sophia Petrillo in US sitcom The Golden Girls had died at the age of 84. The star who had advanced dementia died on Tuesday morning at her Hollywood Boulevard home. Her son Carl Gettleman said she was "one of the most talented comedic actresses who ever lived". Apart from the Golden Girls, Getty's credits included films like Mannequin and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.
